Information about the institute
The Institute of Economics and Management has been operating in the structure of the Kyrgyz State Law University for more than 15 years (since 2005) - first as the Faculty of Management and Law, and since 2019 as the Institute. The Faculty of Management and Law as a structural unit of the Kyrgyz State Law University was formed on the basis of a decision of the Academic Council by Order of the Rector №05-15∕103-a of October 17, 2005.
In order to train specialists in the field of economics, customs, state and municipal administration for state bodies, local self-government bodies, the tax service, the financial police, customs authorities, organizations and enterprises of various forms of ownership, research institutions, consulting and public organizations.
In 2019, for targeted training of specialists in the framework of specialties and profiles, the faculty was transformed into the Institute of Economics and Management. Today it is one of the largest institutes in the structure of the University, more than 700 students study here. The Institute of Economics and Management is distinguished by its dynamism, readiness to master and introduce everything new and advanced in the field of economic, state, customs science, education and practice. It is famous for his traditions, which have been laid down and maintained for

In 2018, the first Tax and Customs Clinic appeared on the basis of the Institute of Economics and
Management, which is a structural unit of the university and carries out its activities at the Career Center of KSLA. The aim of the clinic is to introduce advanced, innovative and improve
existing forms and methods of student education; strengthening and developing the connection between the theory and practice of work in state authorities, tax, customs practice, practice in administrative procedures and work with citizens’ appeals to state and municipal bodies. Work in the clinic was not only counted to students as passing educational or industrial practice, here students began to receive the first skills of independent professional activity.
Over the 15 years of its history, the Institute has taken a number of serious steps in the development of scientific and practitioners, members of the public to discuss issues of economic and legal development, as well as to promote the moral and cultural progress of the Members of the Association.
On the basis of the Institute and the Department of Economics, Management and Customs, the student Economic Club Academicus operates. This association is a scientific, cultural, research, economic and legal union of students and other representatives of civil society. The association aims to unite the efforts of students, teachers and practitioners, members of the public to discuss issues of economic and legal development, as well as to promote the moral and cultural progress of the Members of the Association. This is a team of students who are not indifferent to science, its systematic development and popularization among novice scientists. The club has dozens of events, in which members show themselves not only as participants, but also as organizers and leaders.
Students of the Institute actively participate in extracurricular activities; are winners and prize-winners of various creative shows, competitions, festivals held at the Institute, the University, as well as outside the university. One of the most popular competitions is the Institute’s annual Best Group competition.
Sports life includes participation in university-wide sports events (Spartakiads, Universiades, Athletics relay races, etc.), as well as holding its own institute competitions in various sports.
Graduates of the Institute work in various state and regional government bodies, local self-government bodies, customs, tax service, in organizations and institutions of various forms of ownership (law firms, banks, manufacturing and trading enterprises, branches of companies, etc.).
Symbols and attributes
The logo of the Institute of Economics and Management consists of two elements: a font composition and a trademark.
The sign consists of four elements: a shield, capitals, books and a pen. Elements of the logo symbolize knowledge, legislation, management. The book and pen symbolize knowledge, tax, customs code and administration.
The shield symbolizes law and protection. Capital, in turn, also means knowledge, experience and from ancient times this element is associated with laws and human rights.
The logo and mascot of the institute are made in burgundy color - an indicator of solidity, confidence. It is moderate, associated with stability, stability. People who prefer this color, confident in themselves, without unnecessary emotions, assertive, but entrepreneurial, with good organizational abilities.
The mascot of the Institute of Economics and Management is a horse on a white background.
The horse is a symbol of animal vitality, beauty, gracefulness, power and a fascinating harmonious movement. A symbol of loyalty and at the same time indomitable freedom, fearlessness, valor and glory.

KSLA annually hosts a review contest among institutes for the title "Best Institute"
