The Department of Criminal Executive Law and Criminology was founded in 2007. Now the department has 14 teachers, among them 3 doctors and 3 candidates of legal sciences. The teachers of the department provide teaching of the disciplines of the criminal law cycle, which cover: criminology, penal law, law enforcement agencies, crime prevention and others.

Activity of the department
The main directions of the department can be considered: educational and educational-methodical work; research activities; Practical activities; educational work; training.
In addition, the faculty of the department carries out expert activities and gives an opinion on projects of regulatory legal acts, laws on amendments and additions to regulatory legal acts. The members of the department are doing a lot of scientific work. In connection with the adoption of the new law “On Probation of the Kyrgyz Republic”, in 2018, the teaching staff of the department underwent scientific and practical training on the basis of the State Penitentiary Service of the Kyrgyz Republic on the topic: “Implementation of the Probation Service in the Kyrgyz Republic” (there are certificates).
In 2018, the Department of Penal Law and Criminology signed a Cooperation Agreement between the Kyrgyz State Law University and the State Penitentiary Service under the GKR, in 2019 – the Probation Department under the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic.
