The Office of the Student Rights Commissioner is the human rights student body of the Kyrgyz State Law University ( KSLU) headed by a student-elected Student Rights Commissioner.
In its activities, the service is guided by the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, international human rights acts and national legislation, the Charter and internal regulations of the University, the regulations on the Student Council of the University.
The main objectives of the Office of the Student Rights Commissioner are:
* Protection of the rights and freedoms of university students proclaimed by the Constitution and laws of the Kyrgyz Republic, international treaties and agreements ratified by the Kyrgyz Republic;
* Prevention of violations of rights and promotion of the reform of the educational process at the university;
* Prevention of any form of discrimination in the exercise by university students of their rights in the field of education;
* Promoting the right awareness of university students.
On May 7, 2021, students of the Institute of International Relations and International Law of the KSLU met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to the Kyrgyz Republic, Charles Edmund Garrett.
The meeting began with an introduction to the university, in which Rector Rysmendeev B. J. showed Mr. Ambassador the third building, the material and technical base, and told about the plans.
In the second half, the guest was introduced to the structure of the university, opportunities and ongoing projects. In particular, Mr. Ambassador was interested to learn about eco-hiking, volunteering, social activity of teaching staff and students.
Mr. Ambassador’s visit ended with a guest lecture on “British Foreign Policy and the International Rule of Law” for 1st and 2nd year students of the Institute of International Relations and International law. The students asked relevant and interesting questions.
